Home / China Bridge Conference / RETURNING TO THE BIBLE

… and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:15 – 17

Christians, in their progression of knowing God, have different experiences of God’s grace, but regardless of these, God’s will for all of us is to form one body and to obey its Head, Jesus Christ. As the Bible says, we must attain unity in faith and in the knowledge of Christ (Ephesians 4:13), and so we must build up our faith on the basis of God’s Word. We thank the Lord for giving us the Bible, which was written by the apostles and the prophets inspired by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21), in its entirety. The Word of God is the primary authority through which God reveals Himself – even our “feelings” and our intellectual knowledge must submit to the authority of the Bible – and so we must set aside our own experiences to submit to it. The submission to and centrality of God’s Word are what create unity in our church.
